FSC® Policy

Ref: GN-COC-2011-04 Annex B / FSC-POL-01-004

The organization commits that, for as long as it holds the FSC® certification, it shall not be directly or indirectly involved in the following activities considered unacceptable by the FSC®:

  • Illegal harvesting or illegal trade of forest products.
  • Violation of traditional and human rights within the forestry or forest products sector.
  • Violation of labor rights and principles as defined in the International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work within the forestry or forest products sector.
  • Destruction of High Conservation Values (HCVs) in forests or High Conservation Value areas.
  • Conversion of natural forest areas into plantations or non-forest land use.
  • Conversion of natural forest cover.
  • Use of genetically modified organisms in forestry activities for any purpose other than research.
